Don't do it! FB's "72-hour blocking" is a fake!

"Attention all overseas business owners! If you receive an email claiming your ads have infringed rights and demanding legal action within 72 hours or face permanent suspension—don't click! This could be the most vicious Facebook phishing scam of the year!"

Recently, many accounts generating millions in monthly revenue have been compromised. The scammers' tactics are sophisticated: the emails include realistic case numbers and Meta logos, exploiting your fear of account suspension to trick you into entering passwords on fake websites. Even if you get a "wrong password" prompt, your account access and Business Manager assets are already in the scammers' hands.

How to spot these "ghost" scams? Remember these three tricks:

First, check the domain. Only trust emails from facebookmail.com and meta.com—any extra letters or altered suffixes are fake!

Second, verify in-platform. All official violation notices appear in your Facebook backend. No in-platform alert? The email is fraudulent.

Third, review records. Facebook has a hidden feature under 'Settings' > 'Password and Security' > 'Recent Emails' listing every authentic email sent to you in the past year. Can't find it there? Blacklist it immediately!

What if you've already clicked?

Don't panic! Do these four things immediately: change your email password, update your Facebook password, enable 2FA, and check Business Manager for unfamiliar admins.
