Domain names that require real-name authentication and information required for real-name authentication

According to the "Regulations on the Administration of Internet Domain Names in China" , domain name registration applicants should submit true, accurate and complete domain name registration information. Domain names that do not comply with the above regulations will be cancelled in accordance with the law. Therefore, domain name registration requires submission of domain name holder information for real-name authentication. Domain name real-name authentication includes real-name authentication of domain name holders and naming review of the domain name itself.

Which domain names must complete real-name authentication and naming review?

.cn and other domestic domain names

After the successful registration of a domestic domain name such as .cn , there will be a 5-day registration information review period. During this period, you need to submit real-name information as soon as possible. During the review period, the domain name resolution will not be able to take effect normally. If the real-name review fails after the 5-day information review period, the domain name will be locked by the registry. After the real-name review is passed, it will be restored to the OK status the next day.

.com/.net domain names

Starting from 8:00 on July 18, 2016, domain name real-name authentication must be performed after successful registration of .com/.net domain names, otherwise the domain name will be in Serverhold status and cannot be used normally.

Once a .com/.net domain name is successfully registered, it will be automatically submitted for naming review. After the naming review is passed (review time 1-2 days), the domain name status will be temporarily unlocked (i.e. displayed as OK ). Within 5 days of successful registration, if the real-name authentication information is not submitted and passed the review, the domain name will continue to be locked by the registry. After the real-name review is passed, it will be restored to OK status within 1-2 working days.

.com/.net domain names successfully registered before 8:00 on July 18, 2016 must also undergo domain name real-name authentication. By May 31, 2017, domain names that have not completed the real-name authentication review will be banned from resolution by the registry and will be in serverhold status and cannot be used normally.

.com/.net domain names that are transferred or otherwise operated after 8:00 on July 18, 2016 must also undergo domain name real-name authentication.

.xin domain name

·         Newly registered .xin domain names are in ServerHold status by default and must complete the naming and real-name review, otherwise they will not be able to be used normally. ServerHold will be lifted 1-2 working days after the naming and real-name review is passed.

·         When transferring a domain name, you must select an information template that has been authenticated before you can submit the transfer.

·         Domain name real-name authentication must be completed within 5 days of domain name holder information modification (transfer), otherwise the domain name will be ServerHold .

After registering or transferring a .top domain name, domain name real-name authentication and naming review must be carried out

Starting from 00:00 on December 15, 2016, newly registered .top domain names must complete naming and real-name verification within 5 days. If the naming review is not submitted within 5 working days, the domain name will be ServerHold ; if the real-name verification fails or is not submitted within 5 working days, the domain name will be ServerHold .

.top domain names successfully registered before 00:00 on December 15, 2016 must also undergo domain name real-name authentication. By May 15, 2017, domain names that have not completed the real-name authentication review will be banned from resolution by the registry and will be in serverhold status and cannot be used normally.

·         When transferring a domain name, you must select an information template that has been verified with real name authentication before you can submit it. At the same time, if the naming review fails when transferring the domain name, the transfer will fail.

·         The domain name real-name authentication procedure must be completed within 5 days of the domain name holder information modification (transfer), otherwise the domain name will be ServerHold .

Transferring a non-Alibaba Cloud domain name to Alibaba Cloud (including all transferable suffixes) requires real-name authentication

When transferring a domain name, users must select an information template that has been authenticated before they can submit the transfer and make payment.

What information do I need to submit for real-name authentication?

The domain name holder is a company or enterprise

If the domain name holder is a company or enterprise, the following materials need to be submitted: a scanned copy of the valid business license or organization code certificate.

Note : For the information required to submit for the .gov.cn government domain name, please refer to the meaning and registration restrictions of the .gov.cn domain name .

The domain name holder is an individual

If the domain name holder is an individual, you need to submit a valid scan of the front of the domain name holder's personal ID card. If you do not have an ID card, you can choose to submit a scan of one of the following identity documents:

·         A scanned copy of the original household register with the name of the domain name holder

·         A scanned copy of the household registration certificate with the Public Security Bureau's household registration seal

·         Scan of the front of your temporary ID card

Notice :
In order to improve the accuracy and speed of the review, it is recommended that you submit a scanned copy of your ID card.
Soldiers, military units, and their subordinate organizations cannot complete real-name authentication on Alibaba Cloud due to the special nature of their identities and information.
