301 redirect, also known as 301 redirect, means that the page is permanently moved. It is a very important "automatic redirection" technology. When a user or search engine sends a browsing request to a website server, the server returns a status code in the header of the HTTP data stream, indicating that the web page is permanently transferred to another address. Simply put, it means that after a user visits a domain name, he or she will be directly redirected to another domain name. It can be a jump between the same domain name, such as: eyingbao.com jumps to www.eyingbao.com. It can also be a jump between different domain names.

301 redirection is very beneficial for SEO. It can convey all the weight of web page A to web page B. For search engine optimization and website optimization, it gives the search engine a friendly message, telling it that this page has been permanently redirected to avoid the search engine from not being able to find the page.

1. Some websites can be accessed using URLs with or without WWW. For example, eyingbao.com and www.eyingbao.com both point to the same website. Search engines will regard them as two websites, and different URLs have different inclusions and rankings, resulting in scattered weight and traffic. It is necessary to redirect the weight and traffic from non-WWW to the standard WWW URL.

2. When a website is updated or revised, the page name, location, path (i.e. URL) of the website may change based on the update or revision, or the file may be deleted. The search engine may not find this change and still go to the old location to find the old file. When the search engine cannot find the original file, it will be considered a dead link, which is not conducive to SEO. In order to avoid such problems, you need to manually use 301 to redirect the web page to the new location or file. If you cannot confirm the new page to be replaced, in this case, you can simply redirect to the homepage of the website to avoid errors, centralize, divert traffic, deepen user experience and search engine friendliness. If you have multiple domain names at the same time, such as .com.net.org, you can redirect these domain names to the main domain by 301. Only when you confirm that the new web page link has been updated in different search engines can you cancel the 301 redirection.

3. Due to programming reasons, multiple URLs correspond to the same or similar pages, and 301 redirection is used for centralization.

4. If you want to migrate a website from one domain name to another, it is also very important to use 301 redirects, which can reduce the losses caused by traffic loss, reduced weight and decreased ranking.
